The implementation given here can still be called from subclasses. A class that has a metaclass derived from <a class="reference internal" href="#abc.ABCMeta" title="abc.ABCMeta"><code class="xref py py-class docutils literal notranslate"><span class="pre">ABCMeta</span></code></a> cannot be instantiated unless all of its abstract methods and properties are overridden.
