nn for Debian ------------ * LOCAL SPOOL reading. Reading directly on spool disabled, because we have to many newsserver-setups which characteristics have to compiled into this package. Joey (Martin Schulze <joey@debian.org>) has patched nn so it is able to use both local spool and remote news servers. To use the local spool variant you have to ensure that the local hostname and the name of the news server (see for /etc/news/server) are the same. They are compared case insensitive. Reading on local spool only works if you use traditional spool. To enable it, you have to change the settings for USE_SPOOL and NOV* in debian/config.h and then recompile. -- Cord Beermann <cord@debian.org> Thu, 21 Feb 2002 00:21:45 +0100 * RFC1522-Patch pulled. I removed the patch that tried to interpret iso-encodings in Subject/From and so on, because RFC1522 is obsolete, the patch is ugly and unmaintained. If you want it back drop me a note. -- Cord Beermann <cord@debian.org> Thu, 01 Oct 2005 23:37:19 +0200
